In the fall of 2023, I launched Brenham on the Run with the idea of offering a unique experience—combining history and jogging for those who love both. My first official jogging tour became a reality thanks to the wonderful team at Ant Street Inn, who added it to their booking site as an option to enhance their guests’ stays. While I know this type of tour is a niche offering, it’s something I truly enjoy, and that’s what makes it special.
As I adjusted to the flexibility of my schedule, I found myself slowing down on marketing Brenham on the Run. My focus shifted to obtaining my real estate sales license and also making time for personal travel. With more freedom, my husband and I take random times off as a couple, and last spring, that included multiple trips to the Valley and many other cities for baseball (Go UTRGV Vaqueros). While this shift in priorities was necessary, I never lost sight of my vision for Brenham on the Run—and now, it’s time to take the next step.
Starting with this blog.
One of my daily non-negotiables is running at least a mile every day. As of today, I’m on day 780. Running has always been a way for me to explore new places, and through this blog, I’ll share my experiences in different towns and areas, complete with photos and insights about what I love (and what I don’t) about each location. I used to have a page called Randomness Runner, and I plan to bring a similar energy to my travel posts—think Brenham on the Run in Port Aransas, TX or Brenham on the Run in Key West, FL, and beyond.
But I don’t want this to be just about my runs. I have a few small ideas brewing (things i think about when I'm also working part time at Independence Coffee's roastery) to get more people involved and to expand Brenham on the Run in ways that make it more than just a tour. This is just the beginning, and I’m excited to see where the road—literally—takes me.
Stay tuned for more, and if you’re ever in Brenham, come run with me!
