Begin again



It's been a bit since my last blog post.


I'm 50 now.

I had a great celebration in Key West with my husband, my girls, and some great friends. Lots of walking, dancing, eating and drinking.

Since then, I've been hitting the pavement. Slowly at first but now feeling a bit more comfortable upping the speed. On my 6-month post BREAK on April 15th, I ran 6 miles comfortably. Just over a 10 min. mile pace with a friend joining me. It felt good. I felt inspired.


This morning I signed up for a half-marathon in October. One that I was signed up to do last year, until I broke my ankle 11 days prior. So, that's the one. BCS Oktoberfest on October 25th. One year and three days since my surgery.


My six month training started today. Beginner plan. There's nothing wrong with starting from the beginning.


So here's to training through the Texas summer and finishing the race with a cold beer.


Begin again—one mile at a time.
